HTML EDITORS FOR LINUX (Quanta, Bluefish, TinyMCE, Amaya and KompoZer)

Creating a website has become more easier these days, thanks to the more powerful HTML editors. In Linux you can try some of the best Free and Open-source HTML editors.

Quanta Plus
Quanta Plus, originally called Quanta, is a web IDE for HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, PHP

TinyMCE, also known as the Tiny Moxiecode Content Editor, is a platform-independent web-based JavaScript/HTML WYSIWYG editor TinyMCE is designed to easily integrate with content management systems, such as Mambo, e107, Drupal, WordPress and Joomla!

Bluefish, as described on its project home page, is a powerful editor for web designers, with many options to write HTML, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, CSS etc.

Amaya is web authoring tool with browsing abilities, created by a structured editor project at INRIA, a French national research institution, and later adopted by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Amaya started as an HTML + CSS style sheets editor. It was then extended to support XML and an increasing number of XML applications .

KompoZer is a WYSIWYG HTML Editor based on Nvu. It was favorably compared to Adobe Dreamweaver.

Unlike most other web site / HTML editors SCREEM does not provide a WYSIWYG display of pages. Instead you are presented with the raw html source in its editor window. SCREEM also lends itself to being a versatile XML editing package
